Air Fair and Blues for the Zoo this Weekend!

Big Bear City Airport proudly presents Big Bear Air Fair 2011 -"Transportation Then to Now" to be held on August 6, 2011 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The skies will be filled with the sights and sounds of vintage Warbirds, Just in Time Skydivers, Mountain Fifes and Drum Corp, remote control demonstrations and much more. Now in our 14th year, the Big Bear Air Fair continues to be one of Big Bear's most exciting family entertainment events. Gates open at 7:00 a.m. with a pancake breakfast prepared by Big Bear Kiwanis. This day promises to be filled with fun, food, fresh air and fantastic flying. Tickets are $2.00 and $1.00 for kids 11 years and younger.

Corvettes and Paddlefest This Weekend!

July 9-10: The Fourth Annual Big Bear PaddleFest
Event #3 in Open Air Big Bear's Conquer the Bear series, the fourth annual Big Bear PaddleFest! This year at Meadow Park, the weekend event will offer pre-race-day activities on Saturday, July 9th, including on-water clinics for beginner and advanced paddlers taught by local paddling instructors, boat and board demos. July 8-10: Corvette's West Big Bear Bash Lots of great Vettes to check out and admission is Free to all. Main event for public viewing of cars is the Participants Choice Car Show at the Bartlett Parking Lot on Friday July 8th from 1:00 to 4:00 pm. Other events include a Low Speed Autocross at the Big Bear Airport on Saturday July 9th from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm and a Corvette Drive Around the Lake on Sunday July 10th.

The New Big Bear Bridge has Opened!

The Opening Ceremony for the Big Bear Bridge took place on June 24, 2011 and was a great celebration! After more than 20 years of planning and 2 years of construction, the new bridge is complete and will make travel to Big Bear Lake even easier!

The new structure is located on the south side of the dam with three 12-foot travel lanes, 10-foot shoulders, and an ADA compliant sidewalk on one side.
