Local Insider Tips for the Fireworks Show

No matter which property you choose, you will only be a few minutes from the lake.

Find a great spot and get comfy. While some feel that being out on the water is the best (like me), others prefer to sit on the shoreline (like my folks), and others would rather be up on a trail (like my husband) eye level with the amazing fireworks and away from the crowds.

Regardless of your vantage point, have your refreshments, a blanket and flashlight handy. I will be celebrating the Birthday of our Nation with a fresh baked apple pie!

The show starts after the sun has completely set. We have a breathtaking display that usually lasts 30-45 minutes; tune to KBHR 93.3 FM for synchronized music.

Don't be in a rush! You will see hundreds and hundreds of boats head for the marinas and the road along the lake will jam quickly. Just wait an hour or so where you are while enjoying your family and friends and the traffic will clear ☺. Then prepare for a fantastic weekend full of relaxation or fun in this memorable mountain destination!

Paradise Cove #662

And the perfect days keep coming. Imagine finishing a full afternoon on the lake and coming back to soak in your lakeside outdoor hot tub, the setting sun bathing the entire valley in gold. Honestly, it'll take you a few days even to want to leave that deck in the first place! Paradise Cove is a five-star property with three bedrooms, four baths, a pool table, a private boat dock and an outdoor spa. Each bedroom enjoys a breathtaking view of the lake, although nothing beats the view from the veranda.

"The people at Big Bear Vacations went out of their way to take care of my special situation. They did all I needed them to do to make our trip perfect. The house was very clean and together with a great location, they helped us to have one of the best trips we have had. I will always use Big Bear Vacations in the future as I have always used them in the past. Thanks again for all that you did and hope to see you again soon."

Fall in Love Again

After thirteen years of living up here at Big Bear, I seriously just fell in love with this place all over again.

Last week my husband took me on my first motorcycle ride around the lake; what an amazing perspective! I have a favorite spot on the north shore where we stopped, just to take it all in. I don't know what came over me—something about the weather being so absolutely perfect, the cabins and docks along the edge of the lake, the springy green of the grass, the calming fragrance of pine trees, and the pristine mountain water. All of it came together and totally swept me off my feet. It was a perfect 70 degree day!
