100 Things - BBV Staff Picks

Rebecca's Pick of the Day. #93. Have an Ice Cream from North Pole Fudge

The North Pole Fudge is located right in the Village off of Pine Knot. Even if you are watching your diet nothing beats a little mini ice cream cone, they’re practically calorie free being that small. A guilty pleasure without all the guilt.

Weekend Storm!

The snow started falling last night in Big Bear Lake and despite a brief break mid-morning it has been pretty steady. Perfect timing for anybody already up for the weekend but watch out on the roads if you are on your way up. I got out for a nice snowshoe and it wasn't long before I was in waist deep powder...and that was on the north shore. I bet the resorts are getting dumped on!

Winter on the Way...

The view(s) looking South/North from the pad on Mt. Doble. Looks like some clouds rolling in but other than a little rain this morning there hasn't been much of a sign of the return of winter. Although, the wind is howling pretty good so maybe it's blowing in....

100 Things - BBV Staff Picks

Kassie’s Pick of the Day. #57. Build a Snowman

Building a snowman in Big Bear is something timeless and fun you can do every year. What’s more fun is if you challenge others in your party to make snow people replicas of each other! Then you can have a fun little snow museum of your friends and family! That’s better than any wax museum! Take funny pictures of you and your snow person clone!

Winter?

Nothing like sunny and 50's in February! If you like the spring in Big Bear you are probably enjoying the warmth outside ride now. Me...I could use a little more winter before the warm temps are here to stay. Regardless. There is plenty of snow on the slopes to make for fun days at the mountain. Still a little chilly so make sure you dress warm if you plan on skiing...but don't forget the sunscreen!
