For sure to have little to no lift lines at the slopes and when this storm is all said and done we could have another 1 - 2 feet of fresh powder. Call in sick to work now...it'll be worth it!

100 Things - BBV Staff Picks

Sarah's Pick of the Day. #25. Ride the Sky Chair to the top of Snow Summit.

The sky chair is one of the best ways to experience Big Bears true beauty. Enjoy the fresh air and scenery during the ride to the top. Once your at the top there is plenty of things to do! Knock a few other items off the “100 Things to do list” such as hiking, picnicing, or collecting pine cones for that bird feeder. Give the View Haus restaurant a try for some good food and atmosphere. The Sky Chair has a lot to offer, bring someone special and create a memory that will last forever.

Spring Skiing!

It's that time of year again. Time to break out the t-shirt and sunscreen and hit the slopes under a big blue sky. Big Bear is one of the most enjoyable places to experience this type of skiing as the cold nights keep the snow in great shape for the warm days. With little to no lift lines and tons of snow left over from February now is a great time to visit Big Bear!

Check out the Current Snow Report from Bear Mountain Resorts:

Sunny SoCal weather never seems to disappoint. Clear blue skies and temps in the upper 50′s are on tap this weekend in Big Bear. The snow coverage is excellent and all runs are open at both resorts so work that dual mountain lift ticket!

100 Things - BBV Staff Picks

Sarah's Pick of the Day. #63. Have a snow ball fight.

If there is one way to have fun in the snow, this is it! Snow ball fights can be fun for everyone. They have somewhat of a “Domino” effect, once someone sees another get pegged unsuspectingly by those perfectly packed balls of cold; they suddenly find themselves wanting to join in on the action. However, there are a few things you should do before starting this event.
1. Access the snow first. If it’s too hard those little things can be quite painful and if it’s too soft then by the time it reaches your target it will have turned into nothing but a flake.
2. Feel out your surroundings. You want to make sure you’ve got plenty of places to duck, dodge and dive!
3. Once you’ve done those two things start stocking up on you’re ammo, find your victim and the rest is history! (I would recommend picking up the Snow ball gun at our local Kmart, for the more competitive snow ball fighter)

Winter just isn’t complete without a good old fashioned snow ball fight. So grab you’re gloves and a jacket with a little extra padding and have a snow blast!
