Jordan Romero Book Signing - 13 year-old mountaineer Jordan Romero will be in Big Bear to autograph his new book, THE BOY WHO CONQUERED EVEREST. The book is a full color scrapbook-style storybook (intended for readers ages 8-15) and includes nearly 200 photos covering four years of Team Jordan’s climbing adventures, from Mount Kilimanjaro through Mount Everest. The conclusion is Jordan’s message to kids to set goals and follow their dreams.
Big Bear Paddlefest - Big Bear PaddleFest is a festival of clinics and races for kayaks and canoes on the North Shore of Big Bear Lake, hosted by North Shore Trading Company. For two days in July, paddlers can test their stamina at 6700', take beginner through advanced clinics, and learn about the latest in paddling gear from vendors and sponsors.

Fair weather through the week ahead with near normal temperatures & breezy afternoons as daytime highs climb into the 70s with lows generally into the 40s. By the end of the week the flow around high pressure will turn southeasterly drawing up some monsoon moisture for a few afternoon clouds and a slight chance of an isolated shower or thunderstorm by the weekend.
