Think Snow!

I am started to get a little excited as it looks like we might be getting some snow this weekend. Sounds like it might be enough to get the snowshoes out! Check out the current forecast...

Saturday and Sunday --2 STORMS, MOSTLY LIGHT SNOW-- -> The strong low pressure system dominates the pattern across southern California this weekend, with windy and colder weather expected. We expect the first shortwave low pressure system to move through on Saturday, mostly weakened but with a strong 100+ knot jet stream overhead, oriented out of the southwest. Snow levesl will be tricky with this first system, a close call near 7,000+ feet to start. It looks like we see a band of showers on Saturday, and another on Sunday as the second, colder system moves through. Snow levels on Sunday drop to 4,000 feet. The storm is unseasonably cold, but it looks like the bulk of cold air and moisture remains north of the jet stream. If this system dips just 50 to 100 miles further south on the way through, we will be looking at a more promising snowfall forecast.
