Photography Contest at Moonridge Animal Park. Photography shooting theme: Education and Fun at the Moonridge Animal Park. Four photography groups: Advanced, Intermediate, Apprentice and Children (under 13 years old). Winners will be published in a professionally designed 15 month calendar. Those photographers published will receive a free copy of the calendar. Adults $15 and Children $10 -- includes park admission.

Team Big Bear Mountain Bike Series:Kenda Cup West Series #5. Team Big Bear's Mountain Bike: Kenda Cup West #5 takes place on Sunday May 22nd. Course follows the forest trails on the South Shore of the Lake. Features a finish festival with awards, $1 tacos, and more. Registration is from 3-5 PM on Saturday May 21st at La Montana or 8-10 AM on May 22nd. Finish festival and Awards Ceremonies also take place at La Montana early Sunday afternoon. Big Bear Historical Museum Opens for Summer Season. Come and visit the museum where thousands of Big Bear historical artifacts are displayed. Admission is $3.00 Children under 14 Free. For more information call 909-585-8100

Old Time Bear Country Fair at Moonridge Animal Park. It is a family affair at this year's annual Bear Country Fair held in the Moonridge Animal Park, where there is something for everyone including an animal feeding tour following the fair activities. Face painting, jewelry making, and pine cone bear tossing and walnut tosses will be featured. Youngsters can make their own artistic collages. Children 12 and under can enter the count the Bears in the Jar Contest. They can also have a roaring good time as they participate in the Bear Roaring Contest. That's not all! Who can you guess which of our three black bears will win the pie eating contest? Park admission is $9 for ages 11 - 59; $6 for ages 3-10 and seniors 60 plus, and free to children under 3. Members of the Friends of the Moonridge Zoo are admitted free. If you are not a member, you can join. Parking is also free.
