Labor Day Weekend Events and Activities

Take a look at what's happening this weekend!

Friday:

29th Annual Big Horn Mountain Men Holcomb Valley Rendezvous: The Holcomb Valley Rendezvous is an authentic hunting and gaming camp created by a troop of historical re-enactors called the Big Horn Mountain Men. A living History Encampment of the Fur Trade Era of the American West, spanning the time period of the French and Indian War (1700) to 1840. Fun for the whole family – Step back in time and visit a high mountain encampment of Mountain Men and their families.

"Treasure Island.... The Panto:" 
This event is hosted by the Big Bear Discovery Center and is taking place Friday the 31st at 7 pm. Great family fun for kids and parents to cheer and boo for their characters and maybe participate in the action on stage . . . Panto style.  Tickets available only at the door; a fund raiser for the Theatre Project and in partnership with the National Forest Association who co-manages the Discovery Center with the US Forest Service. Ticket prices are $5.00 for adults, $3.00 for teens, and kids 12 and under are free. Location: 40971 Hwy 38/North Shore Drive

Saturday & Sunday:

Fawnskin Fall Classic Car Show:
This event is being hosted by the Moose Lodge and is taking place on Saturday only from 8 am to 3 pm . The Rodriders of Big Bear present "The Cool Run to the Mountains" at the Fawnskin Moose Lodge. Lots of great Special Interest Cars , Street Rods, Customs and Classics on display. FREE to general public.

Fall Festival:
This event is hosted by the Big Bear Lake Convention Center which is taking place this weekend on Staurday and Sunday from 10 am to 6 pm. This event is fun for all ages and features arts and crafts, live entertainment, and children's activities. Location: 42900 Big Bear Blvd., Big Bear Lake, CA, 92315

 
Ice Cream Safari at the Moonridge Animal Park:
You are invited to experience a very flavorful and tasty adventure in the Moonridge Animal Park, now call The Alpine Zoo located in Big Bear Lake, California on Saturday September 1, 2012 starting at 11AM and lasting until the ice cream is all gone. You can buy one or more tickets for $5.00 each and get 5 scoops of ice cream. Five Ice Cream Stations, each with a different flavor, are located throughout the park. As you walk through the park among the animals, you can stop for tasty ice cream too.

Music in the Mountains: Surreal Neil and Super Diamond:
Hosted by the Big Bear Discovery Center, a “Hot August Night” (albeit in September) at the Discovery Center Amphitheater with Super Diamond, America’s #1 Tribute to Neil Diamond taking place from 7 pm to 10 pm. Tickets: $65 VIP Event Membership package for 2 - $25 general admission adults - $10 teens.

"Jumping Jack Flash" Rolling Stones Tribute at the PAC:
Rolling Stones tribute band "Jumping Jack Flash" will be performing a benefit concert for Crown School Inc. Tickets are $22 and available at the PAC Box Office. The event is taking place at the Big Bear Performing Arts Center from 7 pm to 9 pm.
