Spring Boating and Fishing in Big Bear Lake has begun!!

Big Bear Lake and the Public Boat Launches are officially open so the 2012 fishing and boating season has sprung! Big Bear Mountain Resorts are both still open so you can spend your morning on the lake and the afternoon on the slopes! Trout love the cold water so it's the perfect time to take advantage of amazing spring fishing. The Lake is regularly stocked with Rainbow Trout, with a limit of 5 per day. Other species in the Lake include large mouth bass, small mouth bass, bluegill, black crappie, sunfish, carp, channel catfish and pumpkin seed. Big Bear Lake hosts numerous fishing tournaments every year like the May Trout Classic and Fishin for 50K, with the chance to "catch the big one" and win amazing prizes.
